Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System Renews Contract with Ameritas Retirement Plans

Lincoln, Neb.//September 26, 2011//Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System (NPERS) has renewed its five-year contract for the recordkeeping services with Ameritas Retirement Plans (Ameritas), a division of Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. Ameritas will provide online and recordkeeping services to more than 33,000 state and county employees across Nebraska.

Ameritas has served as the recordkeeper for the state for more than 45 years. It has worked closely with NPERS to build and enhance a recordkeeping system that meets the needs of the state and its employees.

Jim Schulz, senior vice president of Ameritas, said, “We are extremely pleased to have our recordkeeping contract renewed. Over the years, we have built a strong relationship with the NPERS staff. Our goal has been to provide excellent systems and service to the state. Our long-standing relationship is a testament to our ability to meet their systems and service expectations.”

The contract takes effect on October 1, 2011. The renewal process culminated on June 20, 2011, with the formal signing of the agreement between Ameritas and NPERS.
