Ameritas Elects Officers
Lincoln, Neb.//October 12, 2012//JoAnn M. Martin, CPA, FLMI, Ameritas Mutual Holding Company president and chief executive officer, announces the following officer promotions.
, FLMI, CIA, was elected vice president and assistant controller. She is responsible for the areas of treasury, receipt and disbursements functions; and accounting systems, controls and administration.
Michelsen joined the company in 1982 and has held various positions in internal audit and accounting during her tenure. Most recently, she served as second vice president and assistant controller.
A graduate of Doane College, Crete, Neb., Michelsen has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. She earned the professional designations of Fellow, Life Office Management Institute (FLMI), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Treasury Professional (CTP). She also is a member of the local and national Association for Financial Professionals organizations.
, CPA, was elected vice president of AIC Finance. In this position, he serves as Ameritas Investment Corp.’s designated financial and operations principal. His responsibilities include oversight of financial reporting, accounting and commissions.
Oss joined the company in 1999 as manager – financial reporting for Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. Most recently, he served as assistant vice president, controller – AIC.
He graduated from Bob Jones University, Greenville, S.C., with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and holds the FINRA securities licenses 7, 24, 27 and 99. Oss is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants.
, FLMI, ACS, was elected vice president – audit services. He is responsible for the overall administration of audit services.
O’Brien joined Union Central in 1991 as assistant vice president – audit services, and most recently served as second vice president – audit services for Ameritas Life and Acacia Life.
He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.B.A. degree in accounting and earned his MBA in finance from Northern Kentucky University.
A certified public accountant (CPA), O’Brien also holds the CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and CFSA (Certified Financial Services Auditor) professional designations. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Information Systems Audit and Control Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.
was elected second vice president – individual underwriting and new business. Among her responsibilities is aligning new business and underwriting into a more efficient process and providing leadership to improve associate engagement and relationships with the field partners.
Visconti joined the company in 2001 as a life underwriter. She has held a variety of positions in the life underwriting department, most recently serving as underwriting officer.
She graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance and a minor in psychology. She earned the professional designations of Fellow, Academy of Life Underwriters (FALU) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and is a member of the Ohio Home Office Underwriters Association.
